Upcoming Exhibition: Landscapes at Night

Posted By Jason Barnette on September 25, 2014

Landscapes at Night: Photography Exhibition by Jason Barnette will premiere during an opening reception at Zazzy’z Coffee House in Abingdon, Virginia on Thursday, October 2, from 5-8 p.m. The exhibition is Jason’s first-ever, featuring photography captured throughout the Southeastern United States.

Capturing photos of landscapes at night has always been a passion of Jason’s. When the sun is high in the sky, beaming down upon on the Earth, even hidden above overcast skies, nearly everything is visible. But at night, with only the twinkling stars millions of light years away and scattered street lights, porch lights, and the monthly full moon, landscapes look entirely different. Darker, more mysterious, sculpted in light. It is this light Jason has always loved to shoot, even through the night.

The photography exhibition will feature twelve photos, printed on durable canvas gallery wraps, of landscapes at night. You’ll have to come out to Zazzy’z Coffee House in Abingdon to see the photos for yourself (they have been temporarily removed from this gallery website until the exhibition is complete).

The night photos cover a large area of photography including star trails, light trails, rare natural occurrences, and stunning long exposure photography. The photos have been captured across the Southeastern United States in Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Kentucky. Each photo was captured well after sunset, and well before sunrise, during a time of night Jason prefers shooting most.

An opening reception will run Thursday night, October 2, from 5-8 p.m. at Zazzy’z Coffee House. During this time people are invited to come out to meet Jason Barnette, enjoy the photography exhibit, and even place orders for the prints. The photography exhibit will remain at the coffee shop throughout the month of October.

Any orders placed for the prints in the exhibit will be fulfilled after the exhibit has ended. All orders must be placed through the coffee shop, but feel free to drop us a message if you have any questions.
